Back in 2017, Omega introduced a very different watch in the Seamaster line up that was only available in Venice at the boutique and T Fondaco dei Tedeschi. The crown of the watch is also different than other watches in the Seamaster lineup in that the shape is actually modeled after the dome in St. Mark’s Basilica, or as they say in Venice, San Marco.
The Omega Seamaster Edizione Venezia shows the traditional “lyre” case – here showing brushed and polished surfaces, combined with a thin and polished bezel. The case measures “only” 39.5mm, a diameter that is both extremely reasonable for Omega and large enough for a nice presence on the wrist.
The dial of the Seamaster Edizione Venezia is also a nod to early Seamaster watches, with its domed profile, the triangular appliqués, the leaf hands and the applied Omega logo.
Beating inside the watch is the calibre 8800, which has magnetic resistance of up to 15,000 Gauss. Unless you plan on wearing this to the MRI machine, the watch should be fine with magnetism.
