Grand Seiko

In 1960, as Japan was becoming a hub for precision manufacturing and fighting for a spot in the first world rankings, the Grand Seiko brand was introduced. Although the company had previously produced high-quality watches under the Lord Marvel, Crown, and Chronos brands, Grand Seiko would serve as the company's flagship product. Daini and Suwa were Seiko's two rival watchmaking divisions at the time, and the company chose the former for the Grand Seiko project. Both would eventually add to the line.
