Description
The Greubel Forsey Grande Sonnerie is widely considered the independent Swiss watchmaker’s most complex masterpiece, requiring 11 years of development and a movement comprised of 935 individual components. Launched at SIHH in 2017, this ultra-high-end timepiece combines an automatic-winding striking mechanism with a manual-winding chronometric timekeeping train and a signature fast-rotating 24-second tourbillon.
Three striking modes: Grande Sonnerie strikes the hours and quarters in passing; Petite Sonnerie strikes the full hours; Silence suspends all striking. The resonance of the chime is shaped by a titanium acoustic cage, engineered specifically for this movement to amplify projection and clarity.
The striking train operates on a dedicated power reserve, independent from the going train, ensuring consistent acoustic output without compromising timekeeping. Water-resistant to 3 atm. The case is engineered for wrist comfort without compromising the acoustic properties of the resonance cage.
