Measuring 39mm in width, the high polish case of the Marine Big Date is characterized by its coin-edge case body and larger-than-life angular lug design injecting heaps of personality.

Speaking of personality, its dial is a pure delight to glance down at on the wrist. The handmade part guilloché, part radial brushed solid gold dial is the dream backdrop for delicate, petite thermally blued Roman numerals. There is its framed logo at 12 o’clock, and how can we forget about the truly iconic Breguet handset, also thermally blued to match the numerals. Similarly, its pinpoint accurate needle-shaped seconds hand gracefully glides over this attractive dial. Unlike traditional Breguet watches though, this piece sees lume periodically dropped outside of the roman numerals as well as fill the circles in its namesake hands.

Visual balance is maintained perfectly here as its big date complication occupies the lower section of the dial where the six o’clock roman numeral would normally sit.

With 100m of water resistance and a screw-down crown, this is a Breguet that can be worn pretty much anywhere and it will be more than capable of keeping up with modern-day living.
