The LANGE 1 has been the unmistakable face of A. Lange & Söhne since its debut more than 15 years ago. It is one of the most praised wristwatches ever made thanks to its patented outsize date display and off-center dial arrangement, which made it the manufacturer's instantly recognizable design symbol.

Due to its widespread appeal, the LANGE 1 family was expanded to include six quite different models that are all equipped with the same feature: a manually wound movement with a double mainspring barrel for a three-day power reserve that is displayed on a progressive power-reserve indicator.

The case of the LANGE 1 DAYMATIC watch has a stately diameter of 39.5 mm, one millimetre larger than the LANGE 1.

It houses the self-winding calibre L021.1 which was developed from the ground up. A heavy central rotor delicately embossed with the “A. Lange & Söhne” signature occupies the entire 31.6-millimetre diameter of the movement. The platinum centrifugal mass on the outer rim of the rotor ensures highly efficient winding of the mainspring. When fully wound, it offers a power reserve of 50 hours.



But there was never a LANGE 1 watch that wound itself. The self-winding LANGE 1 DAYMATIC is now offered by the manufacturer with a retrograde day-of-week display.
