Emanating understated luxury from every pore, the stupendously pared-down Day-Date is another addition to the Villeret family that continues to hoist the flag high for tasteful dress watches. Although it doesn’t shout it, the watch marks a surprising first for the brand – it is the first time both the day and date displays appear together in a Blancpain wristwatch.
House in a stainless steel case (the material makes it a great option for an entry-level Blancpain dress watch), the Villeret Day-Date is a fail-safe formalwear accompaniment. Shorn of the superfluous, the stark white dial is decorated with silver appliqué Roman numeral hour markers and features long silver hour and minute hands, as well as a small seconds display at six o’clock. The small but practical complication in question, the day and date displays, peers through a window at three o’clock.
