IWC produced limited editions of the Big Pilot this year in two variations as a tribute to their sesquicentennial- the Big Pilot's Watch Big Date Edition "150 Years". The limited edition Big Pilot features a large date display located at 12 o'clock for the first time.
The date window is made up of two rotating discs to display the tens and single digits. The small hacking seconds subdial is located at six o'clock. In the Jubilee collection, IWC goes back to their roots by printing the index and numerals on the dial rather than applied indexes.
The reorganization of the dial on the Big Pilot has moved the eight day power reserve to the caseback for a harmonious design on the front. The closed caseback is engraved with the 150 Years logo, and the power reserve can be seen through the porthole located between eight and nine o'clock.
