To celebrate the 75th birthday of Rolf Schnyder,
the owner and president of Swiss watch maker Ulysse Nardin, the brand has
unveiled a special-edition platinum watch dubbed the Freak Diavolo Rolf 75.
The Freak Diavolo features a tourbillon carrousel with no
true dial, crown or hands, escapement wheels constructed of silicium, and a crocodile
strap. The watch can be wound by turning the lower bezel, and the time can be
adjusted by turning the upper bezel. Meanwhile, the direct gear link crafted
between the three ‘hands’ averts de-phasing, or the throwing of hours, minutes,
and seconds out of step when adjusting or readjusting time.
